Wisconsin Orientation

So...it's been FOREVER since i've updated. So far the summer has been good. I've been relaxing and hanging out with friends so i can't complain. Today I got back from my orientation at Wisconsin and a visit with my relatives in Chicago. Orientation was very helpful and made me excited to start in 6 weeks or however long it is. My mom and i flew into Chicago Wednesday afternoon and we drove up to Wisconsin. We got there at around 4 o'clock and spent some time looking at stores on State Street and walking around campus. At night we went to the terrace on the lake and watched open mic night which a lot of fun. That night i stayed in the dorm by myself since i was there a day early and i'll admit i was bored out of my mind. The next morning i took placement tests at 8:30 am. The tests were an hour and a half each! (a little excessive if you ask me but they weren't that hard) There were planned activities for the rest of the day (walking around campus and hearing presentations about the school) and at night there was time for us to play pool and stuff and get to meet people. Friday morning started bright and early and we spent from 8 until 2 meeting with our advisors and making our schedules. I'm pretty happy with the classes i ended up with and i'm excited to go to school and start this new chapter of my life. Friday night my mom and i drove to Chicago and we spent the weekend with my aunt, uncle and cousins. It was great seeing them and i'm glad they're only gonna be a 2 hour drive from me at Wisconsin.

So today we got our yearbooks and i asked Mr. Thompson (Tizzle) to sign my yearbook...it is the best thing EVER so i thought i would share it with you...

over the past few days lots of people have been talking about graduation and how fast the end of the year is approaching. its made me think a lot. i've been thinking about all of the great and not so great memories i have had in the last 17 years of my life. i realize how lucky i am to have met such great people and made such great friends. it's hard to think about how life will be with a completely new group of friends in a completely new part of the country. i'm excited to go to college but im also really scared. i mean, i have never really been away from my family for more than a few weeks. as the end of the year becomes closer and closer, i realize how important it is to enjoy every minute i spend with my friends and family and how much i am going to miss everyone next year. i could really use a night out with a bunch of my friends just hanging out, acting silly and having fun. i really hope that all of my friends stay close when we go off to college and im looking forward to listening to drunken messages on my cell phone. there's a lot to think about... <3 Steph

im so pissed off. i've been feeling like shit for the past 6 days and today i emailed all of my teachers to tell them that im gonna be out of school for another day. most of my teachers have been very nice and understanding about it except for one. i emailed my college institute teacher telling her that unfortunately i will be missing another class tomorrow and that im concerned about missing work. in her reply, she said that she hopes i feel better but the assignments i will miss cannot be made up and that i will get zeros on them. fuck her. how can she penalize me for something that i cant control. does she think that im pretending to feel dizzy and shitty and that i actually enjoy staying home by myself for days at a time getting more and more being in my school work?? i dont know about you but its not up there on my list of things to do. so fuck her. im so pissed right now. and now im gonna miss seeing the singing valentines and all of that fun stuff. :( i hope everyone elses life isnt sucking as much as mine is right now. happy valentines day to all of my friends that i wont see tomorrow. i <3 all of you.

so....not such a good week. monday, on the way home from school i felt dizzy, like i was going to faint. so i pulled over for a minute and then drove home. i wasnt sure what to think of it but i was freaked out that this happened and especially that it happened while i was driving. so on tuesday, i went to school and in math class felt the same thing. i told my teacher that i wanted to go to the nurse cause i felt like i was going to faint. next thing i know security is at the door with a frickin wheel chair ready to roll me out. i told them i could walk but they made me go in the wheel chair which was so embarrasing. everyone was staring at my as if i was about to die. so after i got picked up from school by my mom i went to the doctor and was told that i have an ear and sinus infection which was probably why i felt dizzy. now today, 2 days later, i still feel dizzy. i know that i cant miss anymore school or im gonna fail out but i also know that if i do go to school the same thing will probably happen to me. so im stuck. and on top of it all, now im afraid to drive because i think that ill pass out and get in an accident. so overall, im a total mess.

this past weekend i went to chicago to visit my aunt, uncle and 2 cousins. it was great to see them and just hang out. on friday, my aunt, my mom and I drove up to the university of wisconsin. it was sooo much fun! i LOVED the school. first we went to take a tour of the dorm that ill be staying in next year. it was awesome! the rooms are big and i can really see myself living there. the dorm also has a brand new gameroom, computer room, lobby and cafeteria. while we were there we signed the lease!! after that we went down state street and looked in the shops which were so cute. i bought a bunch of wisconsin clothes and stuff and a couple posters for my room. it was lots of fun. we ate lunch in the student union overlooking the lake and even saw people ice fishing (i had never seen that before). then we went to an informational presentation where the lady was a complete moron (oh well). she said wisconsin is one of the safetiest schools in the country. SAFTIEST?? lol. i loved the school and now i know that im definately going there next year which is really exciting. it feels great to have made this decision. whats great is that my aunt uncle and cousins live in chicago which is only a little more than a 2 hour drive so they said they are going to come up for football games and stuff. after visiting the school we went back to my aunts house and hung out with the family. it was a great trip!!

So its been a while since i've updated...
Friday i saw Coach Carter with Lainie, Beth and Mark. It was sooooo good. One of the guys in it is officially the hottest guy i've ever seen: Channing Tatum. Apparently he is a model...and is gay (it sucks how all the hott guys are gay. lol). I highly recommend seeing the movie though. Its the best movie i've seen in a while.
Saturday I went to the pom competition a.k.a the pompetition with Lainie. It was kinda weird cause there were almost no kids there from Wootton. It was mostly parents but oh well. We got 2nd!!! It was exciting. All of the poms were sooo happy. After that Lainie and I went to dinner and watched some episodes of Friends with Ian. It was a funny night. From almost breaking my shoulder trying to do a pom move to thinking a balloon in my car was a person...good times.
I cant wait till Thursday afternoon cause I'll be done with exams and can officailly say I am a SECOND SEMESTER SENIOR!!! Thursday after exams im going to Chicago with mi madre to visit my realtives. Friday we're going to drive up to Wisconsin to see the campus and stuff which should be fun. (Even though its gonna be frrrreeeezinngg!!!!)
Anyways, I hope everyone does well on there exams! Study, study, study....NOT lol

So last night i made a HUGE decision. I decided that im gonna go to the University of Wisconsin-Madison for the next four years of my life!! After looking at all each school i applied to has to offer i think ill be happiest at Wisconsin. I cant believe ive made this decision. It seems like ive been working toward this decision for so many years and now its done. Its a big relief!! Wisconsin has great academics, a great campus, and great activities and athletics. I would just like to say: I LOVE WINTER BREAK! This break has been pretty fun. I went to Florida to visit my grandparents which doesn't sound that fun but i only saw them at dinner time. Every day myself, my dad and my brother played golf and then we had dinner with my mom, grandpa and Gaby. The weather was a little on the cold side but i wont complain cause i heard it was frickin freezing here so i wont complain. One of the nights i decided to check the wisconsin website to see if they dicided to make a decision (THEY WERE TAKING FOREVER) and i checked and saw that i got in! That was exciting! I called my aunt and she was more excited than i was...it was funny. I think im gonna go visit it the weekend after exams. Im not sure what im doing tonight for New Years but it should be exciting. Hard to believe 2005 is finally here!! Anyways, I hope everyone else is having a good break! <3, S.

I am sooo stressed out. It has gotten so bad that i almost started crying today in school. Everyone is all excited because they are getting into great schools. I feel like my future is screwed just becuase im not that great at a stupid test. Im really glad for everyone who is getting into their top choices for school but i just wish i could be one of those people. I know that ill be happy wherever i end up but i wish i could just get into my top choice. I cant wait till i know where im going so i can start to enjoy my senior year. Senior year is supposed to be the best year ever and in my opinion it sucks. I hate school. I am overly stressed about colleges and school. It seems like i have a test or quiz every day. It just gets old. Hopefully winter break will be relaxing. I am way over due for a break. I think something like a snow day will brighten me up a little.

I dont know about everyone else but im sick of school. If we weren't so close to being done with high school i think i'd have to drop out. It all seems pointless. Who gives a fuck about the derivative of 3x to the x power...i sure don't. I may be wrong. If someone knows the point of it, please feel free to let me know.

Im REALLY glad we have a 4 day weekend for Thanksgiving. I think im getting up really early Friday to go shopping and get some cool stuff for cheap. I dunno what, but buying stuff makes me happy, and being happy is good. Therefore buying stuff is good. Lol...i just sounded like a 4 year old. Oh well.

If i dont get a chance to tell you later HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

So...now i am one of those cool kids who have a livejournal :). Emily has to finish setting it up and making it look off the heezy. Tomorrow is the student staff basketball game...should be fun. I havent been able to go the last 3 years so im looking forward to it. Hopefully the students will kick the teachers asses!
I really hate being in this state of nervousness waiting to hear from colleges. I really cant wait till I know where im going and i can finally relax. Today in the mail i thought i got something from a school cause i got a big envelope from the University of Maryland and it ended up being an application...TO BAD I ALREADY APPLIED!! (i swear they are just messing with my head). Anyways, i know no one wants to hear me bitch about waiting to get into colleges so ill stop. Hopefully you will see a happy entry soon saying i got into a school that i actually want to go to...
I think im gonna go listen to some rap music...it makes me laugh...some of it is so rediculus:)
